Pep Guardiola not interested in Bayern job

22 June 2012

Pep Guardiola has no immediate plans to take over as Bayern Munich coach in 2013, according to his agent.

The 41-year-old stepped down as Barcelona boss at the end of last season, stating his desire to take a break from football after four years in charge of the Primera Division club.

Reports surfaced this week linking Guardiola with Bayern, whose current coach Jupp Heynckes is expected to step aside when his contract ends next summer.

However, Guardiola's representative has played down the rumours.

"It's a waste of time (speculating)," Jose Maria Orobitg said in kicker. "Pep does not know what he wants to do in the spring of 2013. Five or six big clubs have inquired, but Pep wants none of it.

"Maybe things will look different in February and March. For now he has forbidden me to contact any clubs because that just provides a breeding ground for rumours."
