Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola insists that he only wants the best for the Juventus midfielder and has no specific desire to see Manchester United break the world-record transfer fee this summer.

Pogba is wanted back at United four years after leaving Old Trafford for Juventus, where he has become one of Europe's most in-demand midfielders.

The Serie A champions have reportedly turned down a world-record transfer bid in the region of £100million for Pogba, while United boss Jose Mourinho says he would not be surprised if the deal fell through.

The Portuguese coach also suggested United have other options lined up if the 23-year-old does not return to Manchester this summer, and Raiola - who has confirmed that no deal has yet been struck - says breaking world records in terms of finances is of no concern to him.

"For me, I do not give a damn about record transactions," he told Corriere dello Sport.

"The newspapers write that Pogba can set the record, but I've already made records with [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic and [Pavel] Nedved.

"I want the best for my players and therefore also for Pogba. There are certain things I only discuss with my clients and they know how things are."

Mourinho says 75 per cent of United's summer business is complete having filled three of four "fundamental" areas, with central defender Eric Bailly, creative midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic having so far arrived.

The coach has 'one space for a midfield player' left, with Paris Saint-Germain's Blaise Matuidi and Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic linked with a switch to Old Trafford should Pogba not join.

Mourinho said of a potential deal for Pogba: "I am not going to try to make you naive and believe that we are not trying for one player.

"But we know first of all that the player belongs to another club, which is not a small club. It is also a big club, a club with economical power to fight for their best players, to try and keep their best players.

"Apart from that we know other clubs are also involved and for us it is not kind of 'are we going to win the race or to lose the race?'. It is not a race, it is just the market.

"And when you go to the market, you have other options. You cannot focus on one, so we are in a very comfortable situation."
