France manager Didier Deschamps has hinted that Olivier Giroud should leave Chelsea.

The French World Cup winner has found himself at the bottom of the pecking order in west London once more after the arrival of Timo Werner and departure of Michy Batshuayi.

Giroud, who forced his way back into Frank Lampard's side and extended his deal at Chelsea last season, has started just one game all season so far, against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup.

With next summer’s European Championships fast approaching, Deschamps has told Giroud he must find a solution to his lack of game time at Stamford Bridge before the next international break.

“He knows it, what he is going through now cannot continue," Deschamps told RTL. "For March, he will have to find a solution that is different to the one he is in now.”

The former Arsenal striker is out of contract at Chelsea at the end of the season, but could look for a move away come January in order to ensure he remains part of the squad for next summer's tournament with France.
