Millwall have been relegated from the Championship following Rotherham's victory over Reading.

The result left Neil Harris' side four points adrift of safety with just one match left to play, bringing to an end the Lions' five-year association with the second tier of English football.

They, along with Wigan Athletic, join Blackpool as the three sides to drop down from the Championship to League One.

Failure to secure victory over Derby County at the weekend, a match which they drew 3-3, put Millwall's fate out of their hands.

Lee Gregory's hat-trick proved to be in vain as Derby fought back at the Den to draw and leave Millwall's hopes of a sixth season in the Championship hanging by a thread.

It handed Rotherham the chance to secure their own safety with a victory over Reading, an opportunity that Steve Evans' side grasped with both hands, securing a 2-1 win at the AESseal New York Stadium.

Millwall were promoted to the Championship following a 1-0 victory over Swindon Town in the 2009-10 play-off final.
