Neymar is confident Unai Emery will “bring good things” back to Arsenal after a strong start to his tenure.

Emery, who signed Neymar for Paris Saint-Germain for a world record £200m fee in 2017, was sacked at Parc des Princes having failed to advance deep into the Champions League despite winning four trophies in his final season.

Undeterred by the task of jumping into Arsene Wenger's shoes in north London, Emery has lead Arsenal’s surge towards the top four, with a 16-match unbeaten run, winning plaudits from a fanbase who were largely split under his predecessor.

Neymar, who is in north London this week with Brazil facing Uruguay in an international friendly at the Emirates stadium, has tipped Emery to return long-awaited success.

He said: "Arsenal are playing really good football, they are in great form. Everybody knows he is a really great coach. We know about their quality.

"I was really happy to work with him because he is a really hard-working guy, he really wants to coach us, he wants to study about football.

"He will bring good things for Arsenal, which is a really huge club, a really important club in England. I wish him luck."

Arsenal return from the international break with a trip to surprise package Bournemouth on November 25.
