Barcelona forward Neymar has said that he would love for Philippe Coutinho to join him at the Nou Camp.

Liverpool’s playmaker started the season in bright form, scoring a spectacular goal against Stoke to get his side’s going with a bang. A red card against West Ham United saw him ruled out of the trip to Old Trafford, where his side lost 3-1.

Neymar has said he would be keen to bring his Brazilian compatriot to Catalunya. He told Sport: “Are there any Brazilians who could play at Barca? Many. I’d like Coutinho.”

The 23-year-old was nominated for the PFA Players’ and Young Player of the Year at the end of last season and has established himself as his side’s key players. Liverpool handed the midfielder a five-year contract in February and would be loath to lose a player who has blossomed since arriving from Inter in early 2013.

Coutinho has struggled to establish himself in the Brazilian national side, however he earned a place in his country’s Copa America squad over the summer, scoring his first international goal in a 2-0 friendly win over Mexico.
