Jonathan Gorrie19 September 2023

Alexander Isak starts for Newcastle United as they travel to AC Milan for their first Champions League game in over twenty years.

The Swede dropped out of the starting lineup for Saturday’s win over Brentford but returns to start alongside Jacob Murphy and Anthony Gordon in attack.

Callum Wilson, who scored the winner against the Bees, trained individually in the build-up for the game and is named on the bench.

Sandro Tonali lines up in midfield as expected, as the Italian international returns to his former club and the team he supported as a boy.

Joelinton has joined Joe Willock, Emil Krafth and Javier Manquillo on the treatment table and misses the game.

Newcastle XI: Pope, Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn, Longstaff, Tonali, Guimaraes, Murphy, Isak, Gordon

Subs: Karius, Harris, Dummett, Lascelles, Wilson, Targett, Barnes, Hall, Livramento, Almiron, Anderson, Miley

Time and date; 5.45pm BST on Tuesday 19 September 2023
