Newcastle v Tottenham team news: Tim Sherwood makes three changes

Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood made three changes for their trip to St. James' Park.

Younes Kaboul, Kyle Naughton and Etienne Capoue replaced Michael Dawson, Danny Rose and Christian Eriksen.

Papiss Cisse and Yoan Gouffran returned from injury as Newcastle attempted to avoid a fourth successive Barclays Premier League home defeat.

Defender Paul Dummett and midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa were the men to make way from the team which started Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Chelsea.

Newcastle: Krul, Debuchy, Williamson, Steven Taylor, Santon, Sammy Ameobi, Sissoko, Anita, Gouffran, De Jong, Cisse. Subs: Ben Arfa, Yanga-Mbiwa, Gosling, Elliot, Marveaux, Dummett, Shola Ameobi.

Tottenham: Lloris, Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Naughton, Capoue, Bentaleb, Lennon, Paulinho, Dembele, Adebayor. Subs: Soldado, Townsend, Dawson, Chadli, Eriksen, Friedel, Kane.
