Tottenham have a contingency plan in place to play at Wembley for a longer period if building work on their new stadium overruns.

Mauricio Pochettino and his men are expected to play their Champions League matches at the national stadium next season and then use it as a temporary home while White Hart Lane is rebuilt the following campaign.

The club expect to spend a year away from their traditional home while construction is completed on the new 61,000-seat ground. But they have contingency measures in place to use Wembley for a longer period if necessary.

Chelsea have expressed an interest in using Wembley during the 2017-18 season but they may not be ready to redevelop Stamford Bridge by then.
