Neil Warnock puts smile back on Darren Ambrose's face

Crystal Palace midfielder Darren Ambrose, who scored the winner in a 1-0 win over Derby, is relishing life under manager Neil Warnock.

The winger, who signed as a free agent after suffering relegation with Charlton last season, netted in the second-half. He said: "Neil is a fantastic man-manager and I am enjoying playing under him.

"It is a good relationship at the moment and I hope it stays that way. He is renowned for bringing the best out of people."

On-loan Arsenal striker Jay Simpson scored both goals in Queens Park Rangers' 2-0 win at Cardiff - which manager Jim Magilton described as "perfection".

Simpson opened his Hoops account on 19 minutes before firing home again five minutes before the break. Magilton said: "We were clinical and Jay Simpson scored two good goals to earn just reward for a great performance."

Heidar Helguson also picked up a stunning brace on his return to Vicarage Road to earn Watford a point in the 3-3 thriller against Leicester.

Hornet's boss Malky Mackay said: "He worked hard and his combinations with Danny Graham were excellent."

Matty Fryatt put the Foxes 2-0 up with his double before Danny Graham and Helguson leveled things up. Helguson's second almost earned Mackay a dramatic win but for Dany N'Guessan's injury-time effort.
