Neil Warnock on warpath as Paddy McCarthy sees red

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock bemoaned the consistency of referee Kevin Friend after Paddy McCarthy was sent-off in the 1-1 draw at Peterborough.

Alan Lee grabbed his 100th career goal to salvage a point yesterday but McCarthy saw red for two bookings during a duel with striker Craig Mackail-Smith.

Warnock said: "In the old days that would have been a cracking battle between centre-half and forward but we are too finicky at the minute with too many directives."
