Neil Warnock wants Mark Hughes to replace him at Leeds United so he can “destroy another team of mine”.

Welshman Hughes took over from Warnock at Queens Park Rangers in January and has been out of work since leaving Loftus Road in November.

Hughes, 49, is being linked with the managerial vacancy at Elland Road following Warnock’s departure on Monday.

Warnock told talkSPORT: “I personally hope Mark Hughes follows me again and destroys another team of mine.

“I don’t think it’s a club for a young manager. There is so much going on behind the scenes it is ridiculous really.

“It needs somebody who has seen it all and done it all.”
