Nacer Chadli hopes to see Tottenham’s Belgian contingent expand this summer, with the signings of Christian Bentek and Toby Alderweireld.
The winger hinted on Wednesday that Spurs had made an approach for the Aston Villa striker, and has admitted that he would like to see Alderweireld arrive at White Hart Lane.
Alderweireld impressed on loan at Southampton last season and the defender, 26, could return to the Premier League next term. He will hold talks with Atletico Madrid next week, with Southampton and Chelsea also interested.
Chadli said: “Toby, also, yes he is a very good player. He did very well with Southampton. He still has a contract with Atletico. I do not know if they [Spurs] attract him but hopefully they can make it.”
Pochettino will need to strengthen in central defence if Younes Kaboul and Vlad Chiriches leave the club.
