Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has reiterated his desire to potentially play in Spain in future amid ongoing speculation over his Anfield future.
The Egyptian has been a superstar on Merseyside since returning to English football from Serie A in 2017, scoring 119 goals in 192 appearances and winning both the Premier League and Champions League under Jurgen Klopp.
However, rumours regarding his Liverpool future have been circulating for a number of months now amid the Reds’ failed top-flight title defence, with suggestions that Salah may want to seek a fresh challenge elsewhere.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have both been frequently linked with the 28-year-old, who is under contract with his current club until the summer of 2023.
Salah has previously sounded open to the potential of playing in LaLiga one day - a theme that continued during a recent interview with Spanish publication Marca.
“I hope to be able to play for many more years,” he said when quizzed again if he was keen to try out Spanish football. “Why not? No one knows what's going to happen in the future, so... maybe one day, yes.”
Salah also appeared to suggest that his future at Liverpool was effectively out of his hands.
“It’s not up to me. We’ll see what happens but I prefer not to talk about that now,” he responded when questioned if it was time to move on.
Asked about his relationship with Klopp, Salah replied: “It’s a normal relationship between two professionals. That’s how I’d describe it.”
