Millwall fans were on Wednesday able to buy tickets for their team’s FA Cup quarter-final at Tottenham later this month after a disagreement over allocation for the League One club was resolved.

Millwall were originally offered only 2,800 tickets for the tie at White Hart Lane on March 12, even though they would have been entitled to about 4,000.

But after discussions between both clubs, as well as talks with the local Safety Advisory Group comprising representatives from the emergency services and the council, Millwall’s allocation was set at 3,681.

It is lower than the offer made to both Aston Villa and Wycombe, who visited White Hart Lane in the third and fourth rounds respectively, but substantially higher than the original proposal.

Meanwhile, Neil Harris praised Lee Gregory after the striker scored from the spot last night, having missed two penalties in Millwall’s previous match.

Gregory won the 54th-minute penalty that secured a 1‑0 victory over Peterborough, three days after his double miss at Oldham.

Milllwall manager Harris said: “Lee showed his character, his determination and his desire to win the penalty and then showed his goalscoring mentality to put a disappointing weekend behind him.”
