Liverpool are "ready" to win the Premier League this season, according to Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri, because they are being led by one of the world’s best managers in Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds visit Stamford Bridge on Saturday hoping to maintain their 100 per cent winning record in the Premier League just days after losing their first match of the season against the same opposition in the League Cup.

Liverpool had been leading that game at Anfield 1-0 before Chelsea scored twice - including a stunning winner from Eden Hazard - to eliminate a much-changed Reds side from the competition.

But Sarri expects a reaction from Liverpool on Saturday, who he believes are in the running for major silverware this term.

“[Saturday] will be another match in another competition, with different starting XI,” Sarri told reporters on Friday. “They can increase the determination after Wednesday. It was a difficult match on Wednesday, and it will be a very difficult match [on Saturday].

“They are a top level team. They have worked with the same coach for four seasons. I think that they are ready now to win the Premier League.”

When asked if he was surprised Liverpool had not won the top-flight title in the Premier League era, Sarri replied: “Yes. It's very strange. But the important thing is now they are ready.

“[Klopp] is one of the best, of course. One of the best coaches in the world at the moment. They have worked very well in the last season with these players.

“So, as I said, now I think they are ready to win [it]. To win maybe the Premier League, maybe the Champions League. But ready to win something important.”

Sarri is unlikely to start Cesc Fabregas and Gary Cahill on Saturday while Antonio Rudiger, Pedro and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are also doubts to feature from the beginning due to minor injuries.

However, Sarri confirmed that Andreas Christensen was taken off against Liverpool on Wednesday because of illness and not an injury.

“Christensen had a stomach ache during the match, he was not injured,” Sarri said.

“Pedro, yesterday, had the last part of the training with the team, like Rudiger and Loftus(-Cheek). We need to see the last training session, and then we will decide. But they are almost ready. The situation now is better than three or four days ago.”
