Tottenham's involvement in the Champions League will not change the club's attitude towards the EFL Cup, according to Mauricio Pochettino.
Spurs are competing in Europe's primary club competition for only the second time in their history this term and kicked off their campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Monaco at Wembley earlier this month.
The north Londoners are attempting to challenge for silverware on four fronts and will turn their attention back to domestic cup competition tonight when they host League One minnows Gillingham at White Hart Lane.
Pochettino could be excused for prioritising his side's European campaign over England's secondary knock-out competition but is adamant he remains keen to go as far as possible.
"Nothing changes," he told the club's official website. "Our challenge is to go far in every competition.
"The [domestic] cups are very important - to be alive and try to go to the next round.
"It's important for the squad because it's a good moment to give the opportunity to play to the whole squad."
Pochettino, who led Spurs to Wembley in the League Cup two years ago, is expected to make several changes to his side this evening.
Vincent Janssen could lead the line in Harry Kane's absence and the Spurs boss believes his side cannot take anything for granted against the visitors, who are 13th in the third tier of English football.
"For them it's a big opportunity. We will give a very good welcome.
"It will be tough because always the games when you play in this type of competition are tough.
"We need to play better than them and take the game seriously," he added.
