Mauricio Pochettino is happy that Tottenham got to show off their true footballing philosophy in the 4-1 destruction of West Ham.

Spurs ran out convincing winners in the second of three London derbies on the bounce, with two goals from Harry Kane alongside strikes from Toby Alderweireld and Kyle Walker.

After a slow start to the game from both sides, Kane opened the scoring with a sharp, close range, finish in the 23rd minute and from then on Spurs never looked back.

“I am very pleased with the performance and with the players," Pochettino told the BBC after the game. "Congratulations to them. It was an amazing show and I feel very proud. We all feel very proud.”

"Today was a big step forward because it was a very good example of how we want to play, and how we want to play in the future.”

Clearly very excited, Pochettino labelled the performance as one of the best of the season backing his youthful squad.

“We are the youngest team in the Premier League but it is not about your age but belief," he continued. "When you see a performance like that, it is because the team believes."

Talking about his star striker, he said: “When you are a striker, there are always tough periods but I never had doubts about Harry Kane. He is a top player. He is one of the best strikers in the Premier League.”
