Mark Noble is appealing to find a West Ham fan who lifted him at one of this lowest moments in order to reward the supporter with a trip to the London Stadium.

Noble was approached by a Hammers supporting train driver at Shenfield station on Monday, the day after his penalty miss against Manchester United.

The Hammers captain was sent on in the 93rd minute to take a penalty and rescue a point against the Red Devils with his first and only touch but failed to convert, his first miss from the spot in five years.

Monday was Noble's wife's birthday and while out for the day the Hammers midfielder was lifted by his interaction with this anonymous fan, who is a military veteran that the 34-year-old now wants to come forward.

"I was going out and I parked at the station at Shenfield and a fella came over who was a West Ham fan," said Noble.

"He asked for a photo and was shaking at the time and said: 'Mark, thank you so much for your loyalty and you've been a massive inspiration to me and my family.'

"I was hiding how bad I felt after the day before and speaking to him really cheered me up in a way.

"I don't know who you are but if you can get in touch with the club and let us know who he is then I'm happy to host him and his family for a game at the London Stadium. It was a touching moment, that's what this club is about."
