Sergio Aguero says Man City have 'energy' to secure back-to-back Premier League titles

Sergio Aguero believes Manchester City have the energy win the Premier League title again this season.

The Argentinian striker lifted his third league title with the club since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2011 after Pep Guardiola guided them to an incredible record-breaking season.

Aguero famously scored the winning goal in the 2011-12 season that secured City's first-ever Premier League triumph under Roberto Mancini and played a key part in the 2013-14 success under Manuel Pellegrini.

A back-to-back triumph has not been achieved by any English club since Manchester United won three titles in a row between 2007 and 2009.

However, the 30-year-old is confident he and his team-mates are capable of taking on the challenge.

“It's not easy to win the Premier League again to do it back-to-back," he told Sky Sports.

“But in the dressing room I see the same energy, the same attitude as last season in my team-mates, and that makes me feel confident.

“So if we keep doing the same things, keeping focus, I think we have a big chance to win it back-to-back.

“We know our style of play, how to press, the build-up and all of the movements because we have been playing together for a long time, and we have almost the same players as last season.

“It's going to depend on us, and if we manage to keep our focus on the goal, we can make it happen.”

The champions are currently two points clear at the top of the table and are unbeaten in the current campaign after 12 games, along with title challengers Liverpool and Chelsea.
