Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian believes the Premier League is less tactical and more physical than Serie A, but admits he is happy at how his time in England has started.

Darmian has become an integral member of Louis van Gaal's team since arriving at Old Trafford from Torino this summer, and has featured in 11 of the club's 12 Premier League games so far this term.

The defender believes that his move to England will be important in developing his skills further as a footballer, but admits he feels the Premier League falls behind Serie A when it comes to the tactical style of play in the game.

"In England, the new experience started in the best possible way and I hope it can continue like this," he said.

"Playing in another league in another country helps you to grow in every way.

"In the Premier League it is more physical and less tactical than Serie A. Compared to Italy, there is less attention to nutrition."
