Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has played down the injury he suffered at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Rojo was stretchered off in an oxygen mask after inadvertently hurting himself following a second-half slide tackle and Paddy McNair was introduced.

Louis van Gaal revealed the Argentine dislocated his shoulder in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City and later told Sky Sports he expects the defender to miss United's next Premier League match.

"The shoulder is out, you never know how long that will take, I have to wait until tomorrow I think but he shall not play against Crystal Palace," The Duthcman said.

But Rojo took to Twitter late on Sunday evening to reveal his injury is not as bad as first feared.

He tweeted: "Thank you all for your messages. thank god it was nothing."

Gracias a dios fue solo un mal momento/ thank you all for your messages. thank god it was nothing— marcos rojo (@marcosrojo5) <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://twitter.com/marcosrojo5/status/529050947407069185" class="body-link" data-vars-item-name="BL-152666-https://twitter.com/marcosrojo5/status/529050947407069185" data-vars-event-id="c23">November 2, 2014</a>

Van Gaal will hope the 24-year-old can return in time for Palace's visit, with Chris Smalling suspended, and defensive trio Rafael, Phil Jones and Jonny Evans still nursing knocks.
