Manchester United want 'revenge' against West Ham in EFL Cup quarter-final, insists Ander Herrera

Manchester United will be out for "revenge" when they host West Ham in the EFL Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday night, according to Ander Herrera.

Slaven Bilic's side are set to travel to Old Trafford for the second time in just four days, having secured a 1-1 Premier League draw at the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday afternoon.

United created a host of opportunities in their latest encounter with the Hammers but Darren Randolph was in inspired form to ensure the Red Devils lost further ground on their top four rivals.

And Herrera is determined to get the better of the east Londoners at the second time of asking with a place in the last four of the domestic cup competition at stake.

"It’s positive that we are playing on Wednesday, when we can get revenge," he told the club's official website. "We can turn our luck in the next game in the EFL Cup.

"It doesn’t matter the competition, it doesn’t matter the game, we just want to win. We want to fight for everything and we want to make our fans proud.

"We were the dominant team so hopefully, on Wednesday, we can create as many chances as we did [on Sunday] and normally we should win."

However, although Herrera is confident United will come out on top if they perform to their potential the Spaniard is wary that he and his teammates can take nothing for granted.

"West Ham are a good side - it is not easy to stop them creating chances.

"They have [Manuel] Lanzini, they have [Diafra] Sakho, they have [Dimitri] Payet, they have [Michail] Antonio - they have very good players," he added.

United will be without Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini on Wednesday night as the midfield duo are both set to severe one-match suspensions for accumulating five Premier League bookings.

Meanwhile, Daiafra Sakho has been ruled out of the game after picking up a hamstring problem at the weekend. and Andy Carroll is in contention to make is second appearance of the campaign.
