Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss the visit of Arsenal on November 19 as he serves a one match suspension.
The 35-year-old received the fifth yellow card of his season in the closing minutes of Sunday’s 3-1 win at Swansea for a foul on Leroy Fer after scoring twice in the first-half to end United’s run of four league games without a win. Paul Pogba scored the visitors’ opener.
Ibrahimovic's goals were his first since September and helped to ease the pressure on Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, who had seen his side lose 2-1 to Fenerbahce in Istanbul.
"I thought in England we play rough. No? That's what I heard. Every time I've tried to play rough I get a yellow card," Ibrahimovic told Sky Sports after the match.
"I don't know why he gave me a yellow card. Maybe I was too tired to hear why, but I sacrifice for the team, and if I need to get a yellow I will take it, I have no problems."
The absence of Ibrahimovic, United’s top scorer this season with eight goals in 17 appearances, will be something of a boon to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger as he looks to end recent struggles against both Mourinho and, away from home at least, Manchester United.
Wenger has not beaten Jose Mourinho in a Premier League match whilst the Gunners have not won at Old Trafford in the top flight since September 2006, though Danny Welbeck did secure a famous FA Cup win for Wenger in March 2015.
