Manchester United target Kevin Strootman has poured cold water on hopes he will make a January move to Old Trafford.
The Netherlands defender has been linked with a reunion with former national boss Louis van Gaal, who hopes to bolster his defensive line during the mid-season window.
Strootman's current club AS Roma issued a hands-off warning earlier this month when general manager Mauro Baldissoni revealed the club hadn't 'received any call from Manchester and [were] not planning to sell Kevin'.

And the 24-year-old seemingly has his sights set elsewhere, though insists he does not view his current stint at Stadio Olimpico as a stepping stone in his career.
"I do not see Roma as an intermediate point in my career," he told Voetbal International.
"Of course, a player who plays well here can showcase themselves sooner.
"Everyone wants to play with Real Madrid or Barcelona, but these big clubs are not scouting in Netherlands."
