Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata wants Javier Hernandez to remain at Old Trafford this summer.

Hernandez spent last season at Real Madrid and scored seven La Liga goals in seven starts for Los Blancos. The Mexico international scored a late winner as Real beat city rivals Atletico Madrid at the Bernabeu in the Champions League quarter-final in April but his immediate future remains up in the air.

The 27-year-old revealed earlier this month he has no idea where he will be next season amid reports linking him with Liverpool, Inter Milan and Juventus. Team-mate Juan Mata, however, hopes Hernandez stays at United.

“Chicharito still belongs to Manchester United and selfishly I'd like him to be with us,” Mata told reporters while on a trip to Mexico," the Spaniard told reporters.
