Daley Blind has been spotted house-hunting in the north west as he closes in on a move to Manchester United.

The Ajax player, 24, is one of the main targets for manager Louis van Gaal, who is rebuilding the United squad. Blind can play at left-back, in a holding midfield role or on the left of a defensive three.

It is understood Blind has been seen in recent days looking at possible places to live in the Manchester area and there appears every chance he will move before the transfer window closes.

Van Gaal fueled speculation when he told reporters last week he was open to signing players from the Dutch national squad and Blind also revealed he would find it 'very hard' to reject an approach from United.

"Of course, it's flattering when you're linked with clubs like Manchester United and Barcelona," Blind told Goal.

"It would be very hard to turn down these kind of clubs. But there's no serious interest as of yet.

"There are plenty of players who promise to stay and then leave after all. I am keeping my options open. I am very happy in Amsterdam and at Ajax, but you never know what could happen."
