Man City XI vs Borussia Monchengladbach: Latest team news, predicted starting lineup and injuries today

Manchester City are tonight looking to make it 19 wins on the bounce as they return to Champions League action against Borussia Monchengladbach.

City have transformed their season in 2021, opening a 10-point lead at the top of the Premier League, reaching the Carabao Cup final and FA Cup quarter-final.

But it is the elusive Champions League which Pep Guardiola and his squad hold most dear, facing a Gladbach team who have reached the knockout stages for the first time.

Both Rodri and Phil Foden were rested for the 1-0 win at Arsenal, so are expected to come in. “Everyone except Nathan Ake is fit,” said Guardiola on Wednesday.

Kevin De Bruyne is still working his way back to fitness, being withdrawn early against the Gunners, while Sergio Aguero continues to make brief cameos for the same reason.

Ilkay Gundogan shook off an injury to start at the Emirates and should do again in Budapest, where this game has been relocated to due to Covid travel restrictions.

Manchester City predicted XI (4-3-3): Ederson; Walker, Stones, Dias, Cancelo; Rodri, De Bruyne, Gundogan; Foden, Bernardo, Sterling

Injuries: Nathan Ake
