A day to forget. Really poor for Martial’s opener after getting his hand to the ball – and then nearly gifted a second by mis-controlling Cancelo’s simple back pass. Eventually did give hand them another with his woeful throw out to McTominay.

Given a torrid time by Williams, which prevented him from doing his best work further up the pitch.

Cut out a couple of dangerous United breaks, but stretched by the movement of Martial and James.

Allowed James and Martial to get behind him too often. An uncomfortable day.

Would have hoped to have far more impact in an attacking sense, but wasn’t allowed to.

Harshly adjudged to have fouled Fernandes in the build-up to Martial’s goal. More of an influence in the second half.

Sucked into making fouls as he struggled to cope with United’s breaks from midfield in the first half. Much better when City dominated after the break.

Absolutely bossed it the last time he was here. Not this time as Matic and Fred commanded midfield.

Virtually anonymous when playing on the right. More of an impact when moved centrally later on, but a disappointing derby for last week’s Wembley hero.

A really frustrating day for him. Could barely get a kick as Maguire expertly marshalled him out of the game.

His struggles for form go on. Missed an absolute sitter to level the game on one of the rare occasions he was let out of Wan-Bissaka’s sight.
