Manchester City XI vs Bournemouth: Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Premier League

Confirmed starting XI for key clash against Bournemouth
Marc Mayo25 February 2023

Manchester City have Kevin De Bruyne on the bench for this evening’s trip to Bournemouth.

The defending Premier League champions know anything but a win on the South Coast could prove a definitive blow in their pursuit of leaders Arsenal.

De Bruyne, along with Aymeric Laporte, was ruled out on the eve of Wednesday’s Champions League draw at RB Leipzig, City’s second stalemate in a row.

Having missed training on Tuesday morning, neither travelled to Germany while suffering from illness. De Bruyne is on the bench here, but Laporte misses out completely.

Julian Alvarez gets the nod for the visitors and starts alongside Erling Haaland, with Jack Grealish and Phil Foden also in the side as Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez have to settle for places on the bench.

Rico Lewis is preferred to Kyle Walker at right-back, with Nathan Ake chosen at left-back.

Manchester City XI: Ederson, Lewis, Akanji, Dias, Ake, Rodri, Gundogan, Foden, Grealish, Alvarez, Haaland

Subs: Ortega Moreno, Carson, Walker, Phillips, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Gomez, Mahrez, Perrone
