Premier League referee Mike Dean delighted football fans with a typically flamboyant officiating performance in Manchester City's 6-0 thumping of Chelsea.

Dean, renowned for his exaggerated gestures and no nonsense style, shared a joke with City forward Sergio Aguero after the final whistle, hiding the match ball up his shirt as the Argentine tried to collect it as a memento of his 11th Premier League hat-trick.

Dean had already got fans on social media chuckling at his trademark penalty award, going into a full squat and pointing to the spot as Cesar Azpilicueta fouled Raheem Sterling.

However, the 50-year-old remains one short of his 100th Premier League red card, having given out nine so far this season.

Aguero’s hat-trick, as well as a double from Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan’s strike saw City return to the top of the Premier League.

Chelsea, meanwhile, sank to sixth, falling below Arsenal on goal difference.
