Premier League champions Manchester City will begin the defence to their title by taking on West Ham at the London Stadium after the fixtures for the 2019-20 season were confirmed on Thursday morning.

Pep Guardiola will be aiming for his side - who secured the domestic treble last season - to maintain their form in the top-flight and successfully retain their crown, which they only won over Liverpool by a single point last term.

City also tasted success in the FA Cup and League Cup, but fell short in the Champions League after being dumped out of the competition by Tottenham at the quarter-final hurdle.

European success will now be a key aim for Guardiola, and City will hope keeping Leroy Sane - who is a target for Bayern Munich - while attempting to fill the void left by departing captain Vincent Kompany will go some way towards that.
