The Premier League have announced the nominees for the Player of the Season award with Manchester City and Liverpool dominating the shortlist.

With both teams battling it out for the title on the final day of the campaign, three players from each club have been recognised for their individual performances this season.

City's attacking triumvirate Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling, who won the Football Writers' Association award, are all up for the prize.

Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, who have both scored over 20 league goals this season, have been nominated.

Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk, who won the PFA Player of the Year award earlier this month, joins his team-mates on the seven-man list of candidates.

The only player to be nominated who doesn't play for City or Liverpool is Chelsea star Eden Hazard, who has had his best individual season in a blue shirt, scoring 16 times and registering 15 assists.
