Mamadou Sakho has decided to continue his rehabilitation from a knee injury at Crystal Palace rather than return to Liverpool.

Sakho suffered a knee ligament injury against Tottenham in April that curtailed his loan spell but the defender is still going into the Palace training ground for treatment.

The 29-year-old is working with the Palace medical department despite his loan finishing at the end of the season.

Sakho looks set to leave Liverpool this summer and Palace will consider a move to sign him on a permanent basis. Liverpool value the France international at £30million.

Sakho, who was a key reason Palace stayed up under Sam Allardyce, is training alongside Pape Souare as the left-back continues to recover from the fractured thigh and jaw he suffered in a car crash last September.
