Malky Mackay calls for change to Easter programme

Bare bones: Malky Mackay’s squad is decimated with injuries
Ian Gibb11 April 2012

Watford boss Malky Mackay is furious the congested Easter programme has decimated his squad before Saturday's relegation battle with Plymouth.

Monday's 1-1 draw against West Brom left his physio's room like a casualty ward, after Tom Cleverley suffered a serious knee injury and Will Buckley and Lloyd Doyley required attention.

Martin Taylor and Heidar Helguson didn't even get to face Albion after injuries at Preston on Saturday.

Mackay said: "One day between games is not enough in the modern age. It should be a full programme on Good Friday and then maybe a Monday list."
