Arsenal’s summer clear-out picks up pace as Lucas Torreira nears Galatasaray move

Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is closing in on a move to Galatasaray that could eventually be worth £7.5million.

The Turkish club are in advanced talks with Arsenal and are ready to pay around £5m upfront, with a further £2.5m coming in the form of add-ons.

Torreira has one year to run on his current contract and had been attracting interest from clubs in Italy too.

The midfielder is one of a number of players Arsenal are looking to shift before the transfer window shuts and business is picking up.

Folarin Balogun has agreed to join Ligue 1 side Reims on loan and the deal should be announced in the next 12 hours.

Goalkeeper Bernd Leno is also due to leave Arsenal and he is heading to Fulham for £8m, with a deal likely to be wrapped up in the next 24 to 48 hours.

Arsenal are also open to offers for Alex Runarsson, Hector Bellerin and Pablo Mari, but nothing is advanced for them currently.

There has been interest from clubs in Turkey for goalkeeper Runarsson and a loan move to there seems likely.
