Lucas Perez has made his first appearance for Arsenal following his £17million move from Deportivo La Coruna.

The Spanish striker made his debut against Southampton at Emirates Stadium on September 10, 2016.

Arsenal signed Lucas for £17million at the end of the summer transfer window after Arsene Wenger had been frustrated in the search for further forward recruits.

Wenger insisted that Lucas was not a panic buy, with the 27-year-old scoring 17 La Liga goals in 36 appearances for Deportivo last season.

Asked how he and fellow new signing Shkodran Mustafi had settled, Wenger said: "Very quickly and very well.

"What they do in training is promising.

"They have the focus and the quality in training that we expected and on that front I'm very happy."

“Perez is versatile, he can play on the flank and through the middle of course.

“Not only can he score goals but also provide a good number of assists.

“He is versatile and has some interesting qualities.”
