Liverpool boost with Dominik Szoboszlai back in contention as Jurgen Klopp offers update on trio

Andrew Robertson will be fit for Norwich tie but question mark remains over Trent Alexander-Arnold

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed the return of Dominik Szoboszlai to Liverpool's squad ahead of the FA Cup clash with Norwich.

The Hungarian midfielder has been out since the start of the month with a hamstring injury but has rejoined training this week along with Andrew Robertson.

However, whether they will be joined by Trent Alexander-Arnold in the Reds' line-up at Anfield remains to be seen.

"There’s a chance for all of them but we will really have to see," Klopp told reporters. "It’s touch and go.

"Robbo is physically ready and I think it was good to have him in the matchday squad, and he’s completely in the normal team training schedule, like Dom from tomorrow on.

"He had yesterday a session, today I think he has a day off as well and then from tomorrow on he is in completely normal. That means he is obviously ready for minutes.

"With Trent, is it already Norwich or is it the game after? We have to see. He was not in team training, not even parts of team training yet, so if he can be in tomorrow then I have to make a decision there. That’s it pretty much with these boys.

"So then we will see. It would be absolutely very helpful if they all could be involved, but we have to see."

Left-back Robertson was on the bench for the Carabao Cup trip to Fulham in midweek, which saw Joe Gomez continue on that side of the defence while Kostas Tsimikas also remains out with a broken collarbone.

Both of Liverpool's regulars for the position will soon return but Klopp has been hugely impressed by how Gomez has covered for them.

"Definitely having a rest is good [but] three months is too long, especially for Robbo," he added.

"When it happened, it was really shocking. We knew we had Kosti but we had an awful lot of games coming. Then Joey stepped in and that's really positive - he's the winner of the season for sure, he is back to his best.

"We had solutions without knowing we had them to that extent. We had to adapt, from a formation point of view. We can always deal with a few injuries. A few more and you might have to change formation, that's what we did."
