Liverpool have partially reopened their training ground as the Premier League moves closer to agreeing a potential resumption date.

The Reds voluntarily suspended all activity at Melwood on March 13 following news of the league's initial suspension due to coronavirus.

Since then, each player has followed bespoke training programme from home, while group sessions been conducted through video conferencing software.

However, the first steps toward a return to normality have now been taken, with a number of players having recently begun using the facility for running sessions.

Players whose local green space has become to busy to use during lockdown have been given first access to Melwood's outside areas, though only to train separately.

Social distancing rules must also be observed at all times, while Liverpool maintain that they will not fully reopen their West Derby base until they can guarantee it is safe to do so.

Talks over 'Project Restart' are still ongoing, with the Premier League currently hoping to get back under way behind closed doors on June 12.

The Reds need just two wins following that resumption to secure their first league title in 30 years.
