Leicester captain Wes Morgan has urged the champions to “get back to winning ways” when beleaguered Arsenal arrive at the King Power on Saturday.

Both of last season’s top two got their seasons off to losing starts last week, champions Leicester losing 2-1 away to Hull before Arsenal were defeated 4-3 by Liverpool at home.

Arsene Wenger’s side were the only ones to defeat Leicester home and away last season, indeed Liverpool were the only other team to get the better of Claudio Ranieri and company, but it was not enough to keep them in the hunt at the top of the table. The Foxes would end the season 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

However Morgan is keen to give the King Power crowd yet more to cheer about as Leicester target a first league win over Arsenal in 22 years.

“We need to put things right early, look forward to the next game and get a result there,” the centre-back told Leicester’s club website. “We’re at our home ground and we want to put on a good display.

“Most importantly, we want to go back to winning ways and do what we do best, which is go out there, give 100 per cent and pick up some wins.”

Morgan’s fellow defender Christian Fuchs was among the more impressive performers for Leicester in defeat to Hull but was among those who didn’t make the most of presentable opportunities, firing a first-half shot at goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic.

He urged Leicester to put the frustration of defeat behind them and rally against an Arsenal side also looking to overcome an opening day of disappointment.

“We move on, and the next game is Arsenal now,” Fuchs said. “Everybody is disappointed after a game like that.

“Obviously you want to win your season opener but now we’re playing at King Power Stadium in front of our amazing fans and we’re looking forward to it.”

Arsenal are set to be without Aaron Ramsey and long-term absentees Per Mertesacker, Gabriel and Danny Welbeck for the trip to the east Midlands. Returning trio Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny are all expected to feature.
