Leeds have made contact with Harry Redknapp over the vacant manager’s job after sacking head coach Uwe Rosler this morning.

Former Rotherham boss Steve Evans is reportedly at the training ground today ahead of proposed talks about replacing Rosler.

However, It is understood the club are considering a number of candidates and have been in touch with Redknapp’s representatives having ended Rosler’s tenure after just 12 games.

The 68-year-old is open to a return to management as he revealed in his exclusive Standard Sport column earlier this month, but Leeds will face a fight to convince him as he is eyeing a return to the Premier League.

“I do miss it,” he wrote on October 8. “It gives you a buzz you can’t get anywhere else. If something interesting came along, I would look at it but it would have to be something that I wanted to do, something that could be fun. I am not just going to do something for the sake of it as I’m enjoying my media work.

“I think it would have to be in the Premier League. I couldn’t see myself diving into anything else now, like Dubai or wherever, which I looked at before. It would have to be a decent club where you could do something meaningful and enjoy it. If your hands are tied, it is no fun.”

Leeds are 18th in the Championship and are now searching for their sixth manager since Massimo Cellino took over the club in April 2014.
