Kyle Walker has urged Tottenham to "stick together" when things are not going well on the pitch this season.

Mauricio Pochettino's side have started their campaign in fine form and ended Manchester City's winning streak last weekend, cutting their opponents' lead at the top of the table to just a solitary point in the process.

But it has not all been plain sailing for Spurs, who suffered a shock defeat to Monaco in their opening Champions League group game at Wembley in September.

The club's first appearance at England's national stadium proved to be a wake up call with Spurs responding by winning all five of the games that have followed their trip to Wembley and Walker has praised his teammates for bouncing back.

"We fully deserve to be where we are, I think it’s just down to us as players to take responsibility on the pitch when things aren’t going well," he told Sport magazine when asked about the Monaco defeat.

"We need to stick together. As the old saying goes, you win together and lose together. We dusted ourselves off and got back on with it."

Pochettino's side are now on course to reach the knock-out stages of Europe's primary competition, having secured a crucial victory over CSKA Moscow on matchday two.

And the Argentine coach is leaving no stone unturned in regards to his preparation as he attempts to guide Spurs to silverware.

"We analyse every game - win or lose - to see what we can do better and how we can control the game a lot more," Walker added.

"The gaffer brought the video out a few days after, so we could study where we went wrong and what we could do better.”
