Crystal Palace have announced the departures of backroom staff members Keith Millen and Andy Woodman following the appointment of Sam Allardyce last month.

Assistant manager Millen had been with the club since Ian Holloway was named Palace boss in 2012 and took caretaker charge on three separate occasions following the managerial departures of Holloway, Tony Pulis and Neil Warnock.

Speaking after Alan Pardew was sacked last month, Millen admitted he feared for his job every time a new manager was installed at Selhurst Park.

After being appointed to Holloway's backroom set-up, Millen was retained by Pulis, Warnock and Pardew, but Allardyce has decided to shake things up behind the scenes.

Former Palace player and goalkeeping coach Woodman, who left Newcastle to join Pardew at the south London club in August 2015, has also left with immediate effect.

“Myself and everyone at the club would like to place on record our thanks for the hard work and commitment shown by Keith and Andy during their time at Crystal Palace," said chairman Steve Parish in a statement on the club's website.

"Keith has been a huge support to the club over the past four years and along with the successful times he has been instrumental in helping us through some difficult periods along the way, for which we thank him.

"As a former player Andy has a long history with the club and we thank him for his contribution during his time as goalkeeping coach. We wish them both all the best for the future."

London Football! Crystal Palace will face Manchester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup following Monday night's draw, providing they can progress past Bolton in their third round replay.
