Charlton players will be disciplined by boss Karl Robinson after they posted images of their Christmas party on social media hours after the defeat by Portsmouth.

The Addicks lost 1-0 on the club’s 25th anniversary back at The Valley on Saturday and the squad then headed straight to Newcastle for a night out.

Lewis Page and Leon Best uploaded video footage and pictures on Instagram of players singing on the train and some fans have questioned why the team were out celebrating after a defeat.

Robinson has no issue with the Christmas party but is unhappy it appeared on social media.

“People will feel hurt by that and feel that it is disrespectful,” he said.

“I will deal with it. There is a big difference between going up there and flaunting it. You can have a good time without social media. You’ve got to go out and keep that to yourself.

"I will be disciplining."
