It would be fair to say that life is going rather well for N’Golo Kante at the moment.
The Chelsea midfielder looks certain to be voted player of the year and could well end the season grasping the Premier League and FA Cup trophies. All that and he remains a good luck charm for his former club Leicester.
Kante, who left the champions in a £32million deal last summer, was in the stands at the King Power on Tuesday to watch Leicester overcome a 2-1 first leg deficit in their Champions League last 16 tie with Sevilla, Wes Morgan and Marc Albrighton scoring the goals to take the Foxes into the quarter-finals.
One of the star men of Claudio Ranieri’s title-winning side last season Kante seemed to be largely welcomed with open arms by Leicester fans, though former boss Martin O’Neill was not quite so impressed.

“Judas,” he joked when BT Sport’s cameras dwelled on a celebrating Kante after the full time whistle, though Leicester fan and host Gary Lineker still had plenty of affection for the Chelsea anchorman.
“Never Judas,” Lineker replied. “I can’t with him, he was so pivotal to Leicester’s success last season.”
Kante, the London Football Awards’ Premier League Player of the Year has been similarly decisive for Chelsea this season. The 25-year-old was the Blues’ match-winner in Monday’s 1-0 FA Cup quarter-final win over Manchester United, scoring just his second goal since joining the club in the summer.
