Jose Mourinho damaged Spanish football, says Barcelona ace

Andres Iniesta has hit out at Jose Mourinho, saying the Chelsea manager damaged Spanish football during his tenure at Real Madrid.

The Barcelona midfielder indicated he was far from sad to see Mourinho leave after a controversial three-year stay in Spain.

"You just have to look at the facts," Iniesta told Spanish newspaper El Pais.

"Yes, he damaged Spanish football in general more harm than good.

"But I don't like talking about that person at all. So, if you don't mind, we'll leave it at that."

Mourinho’s spell at Real Madrid was the least successful of his career since leaving Porto, with the Portuguese manager winning one La Liga title and one Copa Del Rey at the Bernabeu.

He also clashed with the media and fell out with several Real Madrid players, including influential goalkeeper Iker Casillas who was dropped for the second half of last season.
