Jose Mourinho has told Chelsea’s fanbase they must make more of an effort to support the team at Stamford Bridge if they want to see the club challenge for trophies.

The Chelsea manager has once again expressed his frustration over the lack of atmosphere at the stadium as they prepare to play consecutive home games against Swansea and title rivals Liverpool over the next five days.

Mourinho’s side actually boast an unbeaten record in the League this term, with only West Brom preventing them from having maximum points.

However, Mourinho feels the supporters are not doing enough to make the venue one to be feared and urged them to improve for the visit of Swansea on Boxing Day.

He told Chelsea TV: “I think Stamford Bridge people must make it a special day. How? By pushing the team to the victory. Not just going there to watch a game, but to participate in the game, that is a different profile.

“If I were to watch a game, I go to watch Manchester United v Manchester City or Fulham v Arsenal, matches that say nothing to me.

“But when it’s my team that plays, I don’t want to watch the game, I want to participate.”
