Football commentator John Motson has been unveiled as the latest mentor for Disney’s Aim High initiative, which hopes to inspire one lucky youngster to follow in the 70-year-old's footsteps.
Motson possesses one of the sport's most instantly recognisable voices, as well as fashion senses, having enjoyed a long and illustrious career behind the microphone that has spanned more than 50 years.
His sheepskin coat and encyclopedic knowledge of the beautiful game are familiar to football fans across Britain and 'Motty' is leading the search to find an up and coming commentator that could one day become his successor.
"I’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy a long career doing something I love, so it’s an absolute pleasure to be given the opportunity to pass on some of my experience to budding young commentators," he said.
"This is why I’m really excited to be part of the Disney Aim High scheme - I think it’s a fantastic opportunity to hopefully share some of my knowledge, tips and expertise with them."
Motson is a veteran of over 1,500 games but will give the competition winner a chance to have their first taste of Premier League action when they attend a fixture alongside the commentator at Tottenham's White Hart Lane.
