Jamie Vardy to Arsenal: Laurent Koscielny praises instinctive England striker ahead of possible move

Laurent Koscielny believes Arsenal will be getting a natural goalscorer if they can convince Jamie Vardy to leave Leicester.

Though they were keen to complete a deal last week after activating his release clause over the weekend Arsenal have acknowledged the difficulty in convincing Vardy to leave the champions.

The Gunners are willing to allow him time to consider his future but have offered him a deal worth £120,00-a-week to tempt him to move to London.

Vardy scored three goals in two games against Arsenal last season, part of a 24 goal haul that was crucial in guiding Leicester to a remarkable title victory.

Koscielny has seen the damage Vardy can wreak up close and personal, he was left flat-footed when the 29-year-old scored the opener in Leicester’s 5-2 loss in September, and has no doubt he is a player of the requisite quality for Arsenal.

“Jamie Vardy is hard to play against because he likes to use depth, he’s very good at running behind the defence and in front of goal, he doesn’t think, he feels the goal, as soon as he can shoot, he does.

“He’s proved this season with Leicester than he can be a great striker, and he’s scored some goals with England. There will be very good striker during the Euros.”

Arsenal are expected to pay around £20million for the England international but are keen not to be seen to be pressuring Vardy into a move.
