Jack Wilshere wants to do Arsenal a favour by helping Bournemouth end Chelsea's winning run on Boxing Day.

The Blues have conceded just twice since late September, equalling a club-record 11 straight victories to climb six points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Arsenal had kept pace with the leaders for much of the autumn but suffered successive defeats earlier this month and now sit nine points back in fourth.

But on-loan Wilshere will be part of the Bournemouth side looking to end the Blues' streak and he is keen to do the Gunners a favour when the Cherries travel to Stamford Bridge.

“I want to get a result to help Arsenal,” said the midfielder.

Wilshere will have one year left on his Arsenal contract when he returns to Emirates Stadium at the end of the season, but Arsene Wenger hopes to extend the England international's stay.

The Frenchman said last month: "My feeling is I want him back. He always said he is an Arsenal man. If you only think about yourself, then you go where you like to be. He always said he was an Arsenal man."
